Angus Brown

Angus Brown is the innovative mind behind Ārepa, a company famous for producing a scientifically-backed, caffeine-free drink that enhances mental performance and promotes brain health. Brown was inspired to create a more brain-friendly alternative to traditional energy drinks due to personal experiences, including the loss of a friend to mental health issues and family members to cognitive decline.

Before founding Ārepa, Brown worked for six years in food technology at The FoodBowl, a modular incubator factory in New Zealand. In this role, he advised and supported various companies in developing and commercialising new food, beverage, and nutraceutical products on a global scale.

Brown co-founded Ārepa with his university friend Zac. Together, they collaborated with Professor Andrew Scholey, a renowned neuroscientist, to create a range of natural, clinically proven products that benefit the brain both in the short and long term. The company’s mission is to make brains work better and delay the onset of neurological decline through accessible and scalable brain food.

Brown and his team at Ārepa prioritise incorporating science and health into all aspects of their business. They employ scientific methods in product development to ensure efficacy and alignment with their core value of being ‘good for you.’ The company also values design, creating products that are not only scientifically sound but also aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly.

Under Angus Brown’s leadership, Ārepa has achieved significant milestones, including selling over a million units by the end of 2020 and launching their product in Coles supermarkets in Australia. The brand continues to expand its reach and research, committing substantial resources to clinical studies exploring its formula’s effects on mental performance and long-term neurological health.
