Founder, Ārepa

Angus Brown is a New Zealand entrepreneur and the founder of Ārepa, the country’s first brain-health food-technology company.
Brown’s path to Ārepa started with personal loss. After a family member was affected by brain-related illness, he set out to understand what lifestyle and nutrition could do for cognitive health. Before founding Ārepa, he spent six years working for the New Zealand Government in food technology at The FoodBowl, the country’s modular food-innovation facility, experience that gave him both the science networks and the manufacturing knowledge to build a product.
Ārepa’s formula combines New Zealand pine bark extract, neuroberry blackcurrants and L-theanine, ingredients backed by clinical research conducted with Professor Andrew Scholey, a world-renowned neuroscientist. The brand produces drinks, capsules and powders designed to support focus, memory and long-term brain health using 100 per cent natural, clinically studied ingredients. The company has expanded into Australia and positions itself as building “the world’s most iconic brain health brand.”
Brown’s profile is noteworthy because he built a consumer brand at the intersection of New Zealand’s native botanicals and neuroscience, turning a personal motivation into a product category that barely existed when he started and doing it with genuine clinical backing rather than wellness marketing alone.
