Christchurch digital entrepreneur Gideon Banks has launched LDOO, a conversational analytics tool that lets agencies and in-house marketing teams ask questions of their data in plain English and get an answer in seconds. It is part of a shift toward conversational analytics, where you ask your data a question rather than building and reading a dashboard.
The idea behind it is simple. “Better decisions rarely begin with a chart,” Banks says. “They begin with someone asking why.”
LDOO is built to answer that question directly. Ask why leads dropped last week and it tells you what happened, why and what to do next, with the numbers behind the answer cited back to their source.
It is a problem Banks knows first-hand. After more than twenty years in digital marketing, across agency and in-house roles, he found the data was rarely the issue. Finding the answer was. A single client question could mean bouncing between GA4, Search Console, Google Ads and half a dozen other tabs before anything useful could be said.
LDOO connects to 13 data sources, including GA4, Search Console, Google Ads, Meta Ads, Shopify, HubSpot, TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Ads and Microsoft Clarity, and works only from the data a user connects. Rather than inventing a number it does not have, it tells the user when a question falls outside what it can see. “A tool that makes something up to sound clever is worse than useless for client work,” Banks says.
That restraint is deliberate. LDOO joins a growing list of ventures from Banks, whose work includes the directory network behind businessdirectory.co.nz and the wellness platform Mevity. A single belief runs through all of it, one he sums up as “people over platforms.”
Unlike a one-off query, LDOO is built to compound. It sets a 90-day baseline for each account so it knows what normal looks like, learns seasonal patterns on its own, and carries context between sessions rather than starting cold every time. For agencies running many accounts, it can correlate an issue across clients rather than treating each one in isolation. The result is closer to a senior analyst who already knows the account than a chatbot bolted onto a chart.
Every answer is also a starting point. From any result a user can generate a branded PDF report to edit and send, or share a live client portal a client can check anytime. Reports can carry the agency's brand or the client's own, on a custom domain, and go out on a set schedule. Alerts surface trends, anomalies and milestones on their own, so the first anyone hears of a problem is not the client asking about it.
The launch caps a 14-month build, with the product in real use for months before today. LDOO is live now, with a permanent free tier and no credit card required. More at ldoo.com.
