    Simran Kaur

Simran Kaur is an outstanding personality in the finance world, known for establishing Girls That Invest, a platform dedicated to empowering women and minorities in investing. Her journey is more than just a story of personal success; it’s a testament to her commitment to bridging the financial literacy gap and tackling the wealth gap by providing education and inspiration.

Simran recognised a significant gap in the market—the lack of relatable and accessible financial advice for women—which led her to venture into the world of finance. In March 2020, she launched “Girls That Invest” on social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook, to share investment knowledge that resonated with women seeking such information.

The platform achieved steady growth, and in August 2020, Simran and her longtime best friend Sonya Gupthan started the Girls That Invest podcast. Their approach was simple but profound: if they could help even a few women gain confidence in their financial decisions, their mission would be successful. The podcast began to gain traction, eventually becoming the number-one business podcast in several countries, including the United States and Canada.

Simran’s approach to content creation is personal and engaging. She believes in being human and relatable, sharing her knowledge, experiences, and blunders. This approach resonated with her audience, whom she affectionately calls “investie besties.” These are women and minorities who previously felt excluded from the world of finance but are now eager to learn and grow their financial literacy.

In November 2021, Simran made a significant leap by quitting her day job to focus on “Girls That Invest” full-time. Her commitment to her cause and the backing of her burgeoning community drove her to make this choice. The platform’s revenue streams include sponsorships, speaking engagements, and a thriving online investing masterclass, which brings in substantial annual revenue. Her message is clear: investing is a tool for wealth creation accessible to everyone.

Simran’s impactful work has been recognised, and she was included in Forbes’ ’30 under 30′ Asia 2023 list, a testament to her hard work and the significant impact of Girls That Invest. She continues to inspire and educate because of the positive feedback from women who have benefited from her work.

Simran Kaur’s story is about the power of education and empowerment, the importance of representation, and the impact one individual can have in transforming lives through knowledge and inspiration.
