Andrew Fraser is the president of Halter, where he leads the commercial and go-to-market side of the New Zealand agritech company’s expansion into global agriculture.

Fraser’s path to Halter was anything but linear. Raised in Auckland, he had an early, ill-fated detour as a uranium explorer in Ethiopia before finding his footing as one of New Zealand’s most respected go-to-market leaders. He built that reputation in software, including senior commercial roles at Vend and its acquirer Lightspeed, experience in scaling a New Zealand-born product into international markets that maps closely onto the challenge at Halter.

He joined Halter as president as the company shifted into a higher gear, rebuilding its sales motion from the ground up. Under that new leadership, Halter’s commercial execution accelerated sharply, strong recurring-revenue growth, low churn and a sales team that scaled rapidly as the company pushed into the United States and beyond.

Fraser’s remit is the part of the story that proves whether a New Zealand product is scalable: taking a system built for Waikato dairy farms and making it work for beef ranchers in Wyoming, where the land, climate, herd sizes and working culture are entirely different. Halter has since signalled further expansion into the United Kingdom, Ireland and South America.
